Putin signed the law on ratification of the agreement with Laos on military cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that ratifies the agreement on military cooperation between Russia and Laos. The relevant document was published on May 23 on the official Internet portal of legal acts.

"To ratify the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on military cooperation," the decree says.

The updated agreement was signed by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Andrei Belousov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Minister of Defense of Laos, Army General Tiansamon Tianniat, at the Army-2024 International Military-Technical Forum (IMTF) in the Moscow region on August 13 last year. It was adopted by the State Duma on May 14 of this year and approved by the Federation Council on May 21.

Earlier, in April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries with Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Salemsai Commasit. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, traditional for Russian-Lao relations.
