Spanish football club Real Madrid has announced the departure of Italian Carlo Ancelotti from the post of head coach of the team. The statement was posted on the club's official website on May 23.

"Real Madrid Football Club and Carlo Ancelotti have reached an agreement to end his tenure as head coach of Real Madrid. Our club would like to express its gratitude and affection to one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football.

Over the years under Ancelotti, Real Madrid have won a total of 15 titles in six seasons, including three Champions League cups.

"Carlo Ancelotti is now forever part of the great Real Madrid family. We are proud to have had a coach who has helped us achieve so many successes and who also exemplified the values of our club," said Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

In the match of the 38th round of the Spanish La Liga on May 24, Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad. This game will be Ancelotti's last as head coach of the team, adds Sport-Express.

It is specified that after the end of the European club season, Ancelotti will lead the Brazilian national football team.
