A driver who fled the scene of an accident is awaiting trial in Kandalaksha

In Kandalaksha, Murmansk region, a court will rule on a case against a 35-year-old local resident who is accused of an accident. He fled the scene.
According to the Bi-port news agency, with reference to the regional prosecutor's office, it was established that on the evening of July 17, 2022, a man was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer car under the influence of alcohol. At the intersection of Kirovskaya Alley and Chkalova Streets, he did not give way to the VAZ-21140.
As a result, the driver of the domestic car was seriously injured, and the culprit of the accident fled the scene.
For committing such a crime, a man faces imprisonment for up to seven years with the deprivation of the right to engage in certain types of activities for three years.
Earlier, on May 23, it was reported that as a result of a collision of three cars in the Zhirnovsky district of the Volgograd region, five people were killed and two more were injured. The Lada Kalina driver drove into oncoming traffic, where his car collided with two oncoming cars. A criminal case has been opened into the accident.
