Belarus, together with Russia, prevented four terrorist attacks in 2023-2024.


Through joint efforts with Russia, four terrorist attacks against officials and infrastructure facilities of the two countries were prevented in 2023-2024. This was announced on May 23 by Interior Minister of Belarus Ivan Kubrakov.
According to him, during the joint work of drug control units, 35 persons involved in drug trafficking in Belarus were identified and brought to criminal responsibility. Seven pawnbrokers were also detained in Russia, from whom more than 50 kg of psychotropic substances were seized.
"Through joint efforts, 10 international "controlled shipments" of prohibited substances were accompanied, and organizers and active participants in drug trafficking were detained in seven cases," the agency's Telegram channel said.
In addition, in 2022, 964 persons wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus were detained in Russia, while 185 intruders were stopped by Belarusian law enforcement agencies.
Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev noted that the operational situation in the Union State is under control, and the number of crimes against citizens of both countries is decreasing. Cooperation between the ministries covers all areas of operational activity, which contributes to the creation of effective cooperation mechanisms.
On March 5, Putin announced that the level of street crime in Russia had decreased. He called for doing everything possible to protect young people from criminal threats and involvement in illegal activities, including drug trafficking and cybercrime.
