In Ukraine, money is being actively laundered by reselling weapons supplied by the West. This was stated on May 23 in an interview with Izvestia by retired lieutenant Colonel of the US Army, political scientist Earl Rasmussen.

"Ukraine is the main example of where this [money laundering] is happening," Rasmussen said.

He explained that Washington supplies Kiev with a certain amount of ammunition or weapons, but they do not reach the front line. Rasmussen cited data from an independent report, which stated that only 30-40% of weapons actually reached the front line. After a while, these weapons, ammunition, and equipment surface on the black market — in bazaars in Turkey, from terrorists in Africa, and from drug cartels in America.

"From where? And on the barrel is the US serial number. The number is traced — and here it is, from the party for Ukraine," the former US lieutenant colonel explained.

In his opinion, the Western media have only now raised this issue, as the West is probably "trying to create a narrative to distance itself from the Ukraine Project."

Absolutely everything can be resold, from truck parts to tank parts, artillery systems, and even drone components. And they can be used not only on the battlefield.

"Such things can easily end up in the possession of terrorist organizations or criminal groups — they also care about them. On the front line, they may not pay for them, but drug cartels and criminal structures will pay substantial money for certain spare parts and weapons," Rasmussen notes.

In February, in an interview with the Associated Press, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had no information about the $100 billion sent by the United States to help Ukraine. According to him, only $75 billion of the $177 billion reached Kiev.
