A 22-year-old double murder was solved in Yekaterinburg.


A 22-year-old double murder was discovered in Yekaterinburg. This was reported on May 23 by a source of Izvestia.
"On January 30, 2003, firefighters responded to a call to an apartment in the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city and, while extinguishing the fire, found the corpses of the owners — a man and a woman — with signs of violent death," the source explained.
On the same day, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). Six months later, it was suspended, and in March 2025 it was resumed.
A 43-year-old construction worker from Dudinka, Krasnoyarsk Territory, was detained in the case. He was convicted twice in 2014 for robbery and theft of documents. The defendant confessed to what he had done: according to him, he quarreled with the victims while drinking alcohol together.
On May 19, it became known that a 20-year-old murder had been solved in the village of Shovskoye in the Lipetsk region. The suspect was a 73-year-old previously convicted resident of a boarding school for the elderly in the city of Yelets.
