The Swedish Foreign Ministry has warned residents of the country against traveling to Ukraine.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that the kingdom's citizens refrain from traveling to Ukraine unnecessarily. This was announced on May 23 in a press release from the ministry.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends refraining from all non-essential trips to the following regions of Western Ukraine: Lviv, Transcarpathian, Ivano—Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia," the publication says.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry also urged not to visit Kiev. The recommendation is valid until the next notification is issued.

On March 31, the head of the kingdom's Defense Ministry, Paul Jonson, announced that Sweden would allocate the 19th package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 16 billion crowns ($1.6 billion). It is specified that 9.2 billion crowns ($ 920 million) of these funds will be used to purchase weapons from manufacturers in Sweden itself, the Scandinavian countries and Europe.
