Scammers continue to create fake Telegram bots of Russian Post and other delivery companies in order to steal data. This was announced on May 23 by the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, the attackers call the victims and report a "problem with the package." After that, they offer to log in through a special Telegram bot under the Russian Post logo to "fix the error." During the interaction, login information for "Public Services" or bank details are requested.

It is noted that the mini-applications in Telegram do not display URLs, which makes it difficult to verify their authenticity. When you enter your data, the information instantly gets to the scammers, which can lead to account hacking, theft of funds, or even blackmail.

"We remind you that civil service employees do not use messengers to request data," the Interior Ministry's Telegram channel says.

On May 19, Alexey Lashko, a financial expert and head of the Assistance Group of Companies, told Izvestia about the security rules for preventing financial losses. He recommended that when calling from a prospective bank employee, end the conversation and contact the bank using the official number. It is also important to verify the authenticity of web pages before entering confidential data.
