Minimally invasive surgery, which does not require long-term rehabilitation, is actively developing in Moscow, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. Under the new format of medical care, a network of specialized units, short—stay hospitals, was created on the basis of city hospitals.

Minimally invasive interventions do not require long rehabilitation — it takes only a few hours from admission to discharge. Currently, short-stay hospitals where such care can be obtained are already operating in 29 institutions, Sobyanin said on the Telegram channel.

All operations are carried out under the compulsory medical insurance policy, a referral can be obtained at the polyclinic at the place of residence, the mayor emphasized.

Last year, more than 170,000 operations were performed in such hospitals in 8 profiles. Including in the field of ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics and traumatology.

Two years ago, Moscow doctors began conducting cardiovascular surgeries and diagnostic tests in hospitals. For example, the treatment of arrhythmias and minimally invasive studies of heart vessels.
