The runway of the Vostochny Cosmodrome airport has been put into operation

The runway at the Vostochny Cosmodrome airport took its first official flight, and a Tu-204-300 aircraft landed on it. This was announced on May 23 by the press service of the Roscosmos state Corporation.

"The plane, according to tradition, was greeted with a water salute — an arch salute is arranged for the airline making its first flight to the new airport," the organization's Telegram channel says.

The first official flight to the cosmodrome was attended by a Roscosmos delegation led by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the state corporation.

It is specified that the commissioning of the runway will allow spacecraft to be delivered using aviation, which will help reduce transportation time.

Bakanov visited the Vostochny cosmodrome on February 15. The General Director of the state corporation inspected the complexes for the preparation and launch of launch vehicles and got acquainted with the progress of the construction of houses for employees of the cosmodrome.
