Two employees of a gold mining company suspected of stealing a concentrate with precious metal worth over 434 million rubles were detained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was announced on May 23 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
According to her, the crime was uncovered during a joint operation by employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (GUEBiPK). The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the FSB of Russia, and the company's security services.
As law enforcement officers have established, two employees together with their acquaintance stole more than 60 kg of gold-containing concentrate, which corresponds to about 50 kg of chemically pure gold. The theft occurred on the territory of the organization in the village of Yeruda in the North Yenisei region.
"In violation of legislation in the field of subsoil use and turnover of precious metals, the attackers took the concentrate by car to the village of Glyaden in the Yemelyanovsky district and hid it in a house used by one of them. The "golden sand" was stored in a toolbox," said the Wolf.
In addition, the detainees are suspected of stealing the company's property: plumbing and installation tools, LED lamps, metal structures and other material assets worth about 7.8 million rubles. It is reported that the suspects were detained with the participation of the Russian Guard. The stolen materials have been seized, and the channel of their possible sale has been suppressed.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the defendants under parts 4 of Article 158 and 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The cases are combined into one proceeding. Searches were conducted, witnesses and representatives of the company were questioned. The defendants are in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
On May 20, Volk said that law enforcement agencies had blocked the illegal migration channel and detained six residents of the Volgograd Region and Moscow, who illegally legalized over 1,000 foreigners. Investigators have opened a criminal case on the incident under Part 3 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration").
