Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters surrendered to the North group of troops in Sumy region

The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) surrendered to the servicemen of the motorized rifle regiment of the North group of forces in the area of the special military operation (SVO). The relevant footage of the evacuation of four Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on May 23.

It is noted that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to conduct fierce resistance, but due to the rapid detection by the Russian military, the enemy, in the absence of help from his command, decided to surrender. As noted in the department, during the evacuation, the group was attacked by kamikaze drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who tried to destroy their own fighters.

The captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that they served in the territorial defense units and were initially promised that they would be in the rear. However, they were then transferred to the front line, where they heard Spanish. At the same time, only one person, 18-year-old Valentin Zubchenko, admitted that he was a contractor. He said that he came to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for money.

The rest call themselves mobilized, claiming that they worked as builders before the army. They did not manage to escape from Ukraine, as they had to pay a bribe of several thousand dollars to cross the border.

"A police officer came to pick me up at home. They took [me] away. In training (training before being sent to the front. Guys who were caught at the border were brought to us. They were immediately [sent] to study, and then immediately to distribution. People have zero desire to fight. Of course, I want to go home, I never wanted to become a military man, I had no intention of doing that," said captured Ukrainian soldier Valentin Fomenko.

As the servicemen noted, they are treated with dignity in captivity. They were given everything they needed to live, as well as provided with food.

On May 16, captured Ukrainian serviceman Yuri Troyanov noted the disorganization of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said that his colleagues opened fire on their own military because of communication problems in their ranks. He clarified that the command sent them to unprepared positions.
