The Ministry of Defense told about the brothers stormtroopers who captured the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Military personnel of the assault unit of the 5th Combined Arms army of the Vostok group of forces conducted a successful operation to capture a well-fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Yuzhnodonets direction near the village of Volnoye Pole. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on May 23.

It is specified that this facility was well camouflaged and fortified, representing a complex system of dugouts and firing positions of Ukrainian militants. To accomplish this task, the unit's command decided to deploy assault groups on motorcycles. The swiftness and maneuverability of the fighters allowed them to enter the flanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and attack in an unexpected place.

"We went on a task together with my brother for the first time. It was scary, but it passed when we visited the Ukrainian guys. They took one prisoner and took up positions," said a soldier with the call sign Shum.

During the storming of the forest belt, a fierce shooting battle broke out between the Russian fighters and the enemy. Despite the difficult situation and the well-prepared defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian military broke the resistance and occupied the positions of the neo-Nazis. During the sweep, one Ukrainian militant was captured, he confessed that he could not surrender earlier for fear of being killed by his colleagues. Ammunition, grenades, anti-personnel mines and foreign small arms were also found during the inspection of the stronghold, the ministry noted.

On May 22, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage of the combat work of an army aviation crew on a Ka-52M helicopter, which struck a dugout with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of a special military operation (SVO). It was clarified that the strike was carried out by aircraft missiles at enemy reconnaissance targets.
