Military groups of troops "Center" told about the liberation of Novoolenovka in the DPR

Soldiers of the 33rd regiment of the 8th Army of the Center group of forces told Izvestia about the liberation of the settlement of Novoolenovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO).

"It was unexpected for the opponent. Assault groups on motorcycles entered the first houses, at the same time we conducted reconnaissance of the area, identified enemy positions and also monitored the enemy's actions," said the commander of the department of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Vsevolod Slashchev.

He added that the enemy was trying to retreat from the settlement. Slashchev noted that he personally saw two cases of fleeing groups of Ukrainian militants.

All this literally stunned the enemy. Each assault group of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation knew in advance which sector and which house to move to. If there were difficulties, FPV drones worked on enemy positions.

"We have cleared three streets, the central ones, to cut off their [escape route]," said Murad Gadzhikurbanov, a soldier of the Center group of forces.

According to him, the enemy behaved aggressively, however, realizing the hopelessness of their situation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continued to resist. He clarified that Ukrainian militants in small groups attempted to counterattack, but the Russian military defended their positions.

In addition, soldier Mikhail Kazantsev added that during the capture of one of the enemy's strongholds using mines, his detachment managed to capture several Ukrainian Armed Forces militants.

After the assault, Russian soldiers quickly gained a foothold in the village and waited for fresh forces to arrive. The liberation of Novoolenovka allows Russian Armed Forces units to take full control of the highway to Konstantinovka, thus weakening the Ukrainian group in Pokrovsk and depriving it of a major supply channel. Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin said that Russian military personnel continue their advance to clear the settlements of the DPR from Ukrainian militants. According to him, the attack aircraft are supported from the air by helicopters.
