The White House administration is considering a possible ban on the admission of international students following Harvard and other universities. This was announced on May 22 by the head of the US Department of the Interior, Christie Noem.

"Of course, we are considering it. Let this be a warning to all other universities: put things in order," she told Fox News in response to a question from a journalist.

It is noted that the administration of US President Donald Trump had previously demanded that universities protect Jewish students against the background of anti-Israeli actions. Otherwise, higher education institutions risk losing their funding.

According to Noem, for universities, admitting international students is a privilege, not a right, as they benefit from higher tuition fees. This adds to their multibillion-dollar funds, she added.

Noem announced on May 22 that the US authorities had stripped Harvard of its certification for admitting international students. She added that all international students who are currently studying at Harvard should transfer to other educational institutions.
