A criminal case on the terrorist attack was initiated on the fact that militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fired at the city of Lgov in the Kursk region. This was announced on Thursday, May 22, by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on a terrorist act in connection with the shelling of the city of Lgov by Ukrainian armed forces," said department spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko.

According to her, the exact number of victims is still being clarified. She also added that during the preliminary investigation, the Ukrainian militants involved in this crime will be identified and brought to criminal responsibility.

The governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein, announced a massive attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Lviv earlier in the day. According to him, at least 12 people were injured as a result of attacks by Ukrainian militants, including two children aged 13 and 16. It was previously established that four cars, one apartment building and two private houses were also damaged.
