In the Kurgan region, a decision was made to extend the ban on visiting forests. This is reported by the news agency " <url>" with reference to the relevant order of the regional Department of Civil Protection, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.

"In order to ensure fire safety in forests, from May 24 to June 13, the stay of citizens, the entry of vehicles and all types of work on the lands of the forest fund are limited," the news agency cites the text of the document.

However, the ban does not apply to employees of specialized organizations, such as the forest fire center and forest management.

The decision to impose restrictions on forest visits is associated with a high fire risk. Previously, a similar ban had already been imposed in the region for a period of 20 days — from 3 to 23 May.

On May 22, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that the area of forest fires in Russia had increased 2.5 times compared to last year. At the same time, almost 2.5 thousand forest fires were recorded, which is comparable to last year's figures.
