The energy policy of the European Union (EU) is absurd and aimed at supporting Ukraine. This was announced on May 22 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"The energy threat from Ukraine has increased. Yesterday, the foreign ministers of European countries gathered in Brussels, where they discussed the next package of sanctions. It is obvious that the Brussels bureaucrats have switched to an absurd energy policy," Orban wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

He noted that Hungary's energy policy is aimed at making energy cheap, affordable and safe. According to him, this is the basis for the competitiveness of the economy.

Orban also called for working together to combat the energy threat from the European Union.

On May 18, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto called Ukraine the most corrupt country in Europe. According to the diplomat, Kiev is "in no way" ready for membership in the European Union.
