The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have launched a massive attack on the city of Lgov in the Kursk region, injuring 12 people. This was announced on May 22 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

"Unfortunately, 12 civilians were injured as a result of the strike, including two children aged 13 and 16," Khinstein wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, a 13-year-old child received shrapnel wounds to the lower back, a 16—year-old teenager had a traumatic brain injury, a wound to the back of his head and left shoulder. Seven women and three men were also injured, who received shrapnel wounds and bruises. According to Khinstein, the victims' lives are not in danger, they were sent to the regional hospital.

In addition, according to preliminary information, four cars, one apartment building and two private houses were damaged as a result of the attack.

Earlier that day, two employees of a store in the village of Pushkarnoye, Kursk region, were injured in an attack by an AFU FPV drone. A 66-year-old local resident suffered a mine explosion injury to his face, torso, arms and legs, as well as a closed craniocerebral injury. A 31-year-old woman was diagnosed with wounds to her forearms, shins, and a damaged tendon in her leg.
