Macron declared the commitment of France and China to the idea of a ceasefire in Ukraine

France and China advocate an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. This was announced on May 22 by French President Emmanuel Macron following telephone talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

According to him, in response to the Ukrainian conflict, Paris and Beijing are pursuing the goal of achieving a lasting and stable peace.

"The first step is an immediate and unconditional cease—fire," the French president wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
