Russian actor Vladimir Mishukov, known for his roles in the TV series "Crime and Punishment" and "Content Women," denied rumors about his departure from the country, and also told on his social networks that he had begun taking custody of his son Platon. The artist made the post on June 12, Russia Day, coinciding with his son's birthday.

"There are articles about me on the Internet with subheadings that I abandoned my youngest son Plato, allegedly because he has Down syndrome. It is not true. There are rumors that I left Russia and went to the West. That's not true either. I didn't leave or abandon anyone. I still continue to live with my child in Russia. And it is on these days that I am taking custody of him, since he is an incapacitated member of our society," Mishukov stressed.

He noted that he sees symbolic significance in the fact that Plato was born on Russia Day.

"I love my child, regardless of his diagnosis. I love my homeland, beyond the context of the trials that befall it. I do not intend to leave my son or my country. On the contrary, through my work and destiny, I want to raise my Homeland to unprecedented heights, and ensure a safe life for my son in my country," the actor concluded.

In April, Mishukov said in an interview that he had never intended to leave Russia, because he "basically exists on the territory of Russian-speaking thought."
