On May 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the results of Russian schoolchildren at international Olympiads impressive.

"We have every reason to congratulate the students participating in Russian teams at international Olympiads on the results," the president said at a meeting with members of the government.

Putin also noted that both schoolchildren and their mentors should be congratulated for the impressive results.
