An electronic barrier is being built in the Lublin voivodeship of Poland on the border with Belarus. This was announced on May 22 by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the country Tomasz Semoniak.

"On the Polish-Belarusian border in the Lublin Voivodeship, work is underway to erect an electronic barrier on the Bug border river," Interfax quoted him as saying.

According to him, the barrier will be ready by July 20. He stressed that the construction of the fence is an extremely important tool for ensuring border security.

It is specified that the barrier includes about 1.8 thousand masts with cameras, 4.5 thousand cameras for round-the-clock and thermal imaging surveillance and special sensors that can detect different physical characteristics of objects.

On April 6, the Polish border Guard reported that the authorities had installed an electronic barrier along the rivers bordering Belarus. It was clarified that the monitoring system is already operating on the entire section of the Polish-Belarusian border in Podlaskie voivodeship.
