Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to create a buffer security zone along the border of Russia and Ukraine, and this task is currently being solved by the Russian Armed Forces. The Head of State announced this during a meeting with members of the Government of the Russian Federation on May 22.

"It was decided to create the necessary security buffer zone along the border. Our armed forces are currently solving this problem," the president said.

He added that the Russian military is actively suppressing enemy firing points, and their work is progressing.

"At the same time, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that already now, taking into account the situation in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions, we need to expand work to restore and rebuild everything that has been destroyed. To help people return to their villages, wherever security conditions allow," Putin said.

In addition, the head of state noted that the enemy chooses border targets for shelling, which have no military significance. He stressed that during the raids of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Ukrainian militants prey on civilian vehicles, including ambulances.
