Russian car brand Solaris sets sales record in April

By the end of April 2025, 2,298 new Solaris vehicles were sold in Russia, which was a record result for the brand since its launch in May last year. This was reported on May 22 by the analytical agency Autostat.

The most popular Solaris model in April was the HC crossover, which sold 741 copies. Sales of the KRS sedan totaled 730 units, 435 HS sedans and 392 KRX cross hatchbacks were also sold.

The volume of Solaris sales exceeded the 1,000 mark in May 2024, after which it did not fall below. Previous sales records for these cars were set in August and October (2,128 and 2,140 units, respectively).

Analysts noted that for the second month in a row, Solaris is among the top ten brands in the Russian market, showing the best dynamics among them (due to its low comparative base). In April, the brand's sales increased 2.3 times.

The former plant of the South Korean Hyundai concern in St. Petersburg, acquired by the Russian company Art Finance, was renamed the AGR Automobile Plant in early 2024. Solaris brand cars are renamed Hyundai and Kia and are produced in full cycle mode (stamping, welding, painting and assembly). The model range includes HC crossovers (Hyundai Creta), KRS sedan (Kia Rio), KRX cross hatchback (Kia Rio X) and HS sedan (Hyundai Solaris).

On March 28, it was reported that the St. Petersburg Automobile Plant AGR (formerly Hyundai Motor) has produced 30 thousand cars of the Russian brand Solaris since the restart of the enterprise in February last year. The Solaris KRX has become an anniversary.
