The Kirovsky District Court of the Yaroslavl Region has changed the measure of restraint for a suspect in the case of the abduction of kangaroos from zoos in the Yaroslavl and Kaluga regions. This was reported to Izvestia on May 22 by the press service of the Yaroslavl Regional Court.

"At the request of the investigator, the Kirovsky District Court of Yaroslavl on May 22, 2025, decided to place Ivan Nekrasov in a medical organization providing psychiatric care in inpatient conditions until August 27, 2025," the statement said.

It is indicated that the measure of restraint was changed after the examination and receipt of its results.

The theft of baby kangaroo Krosh from the Yaroslavl Zoo became known on September 30. He disappeared on the night of Friday, September 27. On October 2, a suspected thief was detained in the Vladimir region along with a baby and two kangaroo cubs from the Kaluga Region. The attacker intended to sell the animals, for which he was taking them to Moscow. One of the kangaroos died, the second was rescued by the police and returned to the zoo. The attacker managed to sell the crumble, but law enforcement officers found it in a private house near Korolev and seized it.

The Zavolzhsky District Court of Yaroslavl arrested Nekrasov on October 4, 2024. During the meeting, he had a tantrum, he demanded to stop recording video and audio.
