People's Artist of the USSR, teacher-tutor of the Bolshoi Theater Yuri Vladimirova was buried at the Danilovsky cemetery in Moscow. This was reported on May 22 by a RIA Novosti correspondent.
The funeral service of the artist took place in the church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Accidental Joy", and the farewell ceremony was held in the main foyer of the historic building of the Bolshoi Theater.
His family, friends, colleagues and admirers of his talent came to say goodbye to Vladimirov. Among them were the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Svetlana Zakharova, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Andris Liepa, ballet master-tutor of the Bolshoi Theater troupe Nina Semizorova, as well as artists Marina and Anna Leonov and many others.
After the farewell ceremony, Vladimirov was escorted to his last journey to loud applause.
Yuri Vladimirov died on May 19 at the age of 83. He actively participated in tours abroad and starred in TV ballets, and was also awarded numerous awards at international and Russian competitions.
