Chinese car brands Kaiyi, SWM, Livan and Forhing are considered the main candidates for withdrawal from the Russian market. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat agency, told about this on May 22 in his Telegram channel, referring to the results of a survey conducted by analysts among the audience.

The respondents were offered eight brands with minimal sales per dealership as possible answers. The survey did not include brands that have appeared in the Russian Federation recently, as well as niche brands such as Ora, Wey and Aito Seres. According to Tselikov, the Xcite and Skywell brands were not included in the survey, "the fate of which is already clear."

According to the survey results, Kaiyi (39%), SWM (35%), Livan (33%) and Forhing (32%) have the greatest chances of leaving the Russian car market, the analyst said. They are followed by BAIC (27%), Oting (24%), MG (23%) and Soueast (21%). 1104 people took part in the survey, they could choose more than one answer option.

On May 7, it became known that the least recognizable car brand from China among those officially represented on the Russian market is SWM. The top five anti-rating brands also included Knewstar (2.9%), Hongqi (8.2%) and Kaiyi (9.6%).

On April 18, it was reported that the Russian representative offices of a number of Chinese car brands denied their withdrawal from the Russian market and announced their plans for 2025. The companies issued statements in response to media reports, whose interlocutors reported that the brands Oting, Kaiyi, SWM, Livan, VGV and MG were at risk.
