The insurer announced high repair times for Chinese cars under hard hats

Car dealers and services are experiencing a shortage of spare parts for Chinese cars, which is why the repair time for cars is delayed. This was stated by Vladimir Skvortsov, CEO of AlfaStrakhovanie, the company's press service told Izvestia on May 22.
"The supply of spare parts for Chinese cars is not keeping pace with the rapidly growing sales. Therefore, customers are often unpleasantly surprised by the waiting time for repairs, which in some cases may be higher for Chinese brands than for Europeans who have left the market," said Skvortsov.
The situation with spare parts is gradually improving, and car repair times are shortening, but "there is still a lot to do," he said. At the same time, most customers are sympathetic to the new waiting times for repairs under hard hats, Skvortsov said. The top manager noted that the company is looking for spare parts from its own suppliers if an authorized service reports that waiting times will be long.
According to the company, in 2025, 70% of its casco policies were issued for Chinese cars, while in 2021 it was only 4%.
On May 20, it was reported that in the first quarter of 2025, the Hyundai Solaris model topped the rating of record—breaking cars in accidents in Russia. Kia Rio and Lada Granta also entered the top three in terms of accidents. According to casco payments, Lada Vesta topped the rating of the most emergency models, followed by the Chinese Haval Jolion and Omoda C5.
