- At the briefing, Callas got confused about the names of the three branches of government in the EU.

The head of the European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, during a speech on Thursday, May 22, at a press conference in Serbia, could not immediately correctly list which branches of government in the European Union (EU) were divided into, having become confused in their pronunciation and names.
The European Diplomat first called the executive branch "governing," and then she couldn't pronounce the word "legislative." At the end of the speech, Callas referred to the fact that she was tired after a long working week.
"One of the principles of the European Union is the separation of powers. You have the executive..., you have, uh, you have the legislative power, you have the governing power, then you have the legislative..., that is, I mean the courts. Sorry, it's been a very long week," she concluded.
There are three branches of government in the EU — legislative, executive and judicial.
On May 21, the press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said that according to information received by the agency, Brussels is beginning to admit a mistake with the appointment of Callas to the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. It was clarified that in five months of work she had not been able to establish working relations with the leaders of the union's countries and was unable to cope with the main task of coordinating the union's foreign policy departments.
As the chairman of the Russian Federation Council's commission on information policy and interaction with the media, Senator Alexei Pushkov, pointed out, most EU members do not take Callas seriously. He noted that her "Estonian edification is not based on anything but an empty fee, although minimal political intelligence is needed in this position."
