A first—aid kit is an integral part of any traveler's luggage. This is not a formality, but a necessity that must be approached with maximum responsibility. In order not to waste time and money in a foreign city or country in search of necessary medicines, it is important to properly equip it in advance. What you need to take with you on vacation, read in the Izvestia article.

A list of medications for vacation — why make

It is better to collect a first-aid kit in advance, about 10-14 days before departure. At the first stage, it is important to assess individual needs, whether there are chronic diseases, medications that are taken on an ongoing basis (these medications must be available in sufficient quantities for the entire duration of the trip with a few days' supply).

It is useful to make a list of medications that may be useful during a trip, breaking them down into categories: personal, general, and emergency.

After that, you need to check your home medicine cabinet for medications and their expiration date, so as not to buy too much or, conversely, have time to purchase the missing medications. If possible, it is worth consulting with a doctor in advance, especially if children or elderly relatives are traveling. It is better to take the original packaging and instructions with you — they may be required at customs or in case of a visit to a doctor abroad.

How to arrange a first-aid kit on the road

Proper organization of a first—aid kit is not only a list of medications, but also the logistics of storage. The optimal solution is to divide the drugs into two groups. Put those that should be at hand in the first place, and those that can be put in the luggage in the second.

Hand luggage or a daily bag should contain quick access products: antipyretics, antihistamines, motion sickness medications, eye or nose drops, as well as medical masks and antiseptic. It is recommended to pack all this in a compact sealed case or plastic box.

The rest of the first—aid kit — bulky packages, duplicate medicines, ointments, bandages, and a thermometer - can be packed in a suitcase. It is better to use a thick cosmetic bag or a separate waterproof organizer that is resistant to temperature fluctuations. If medicines require special storage conditions, it is worth providing a thermos bag or special containers with cooling elements.

What should be in the first-aid kit for vacationers at sea

When collecting a travel first aid kit, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of recreation on the seashore. The sun, water, high humidity, and physical activity create a range of potential risks, from sunburn and insect bites to intestinal infections and mechanical injuries.

One of the key points of any travel first aid kit should be remedies for pain and fever. Paracetamol or ibuprofen in a standard dosage is useful for colds, headaches, fever, or pain after long walks. Antiseptics, both for the skin and for the hands, will help with cuts and scratches, as well as if disinfection is necessary in the field.

Special attention should be paid to skin protection. Sunscreens with high SPF are not cosmetics, but a means of preventing burns and photo—aging, and in the future, more serious consequences, such as melanoma. Along with this, there should be an after-sun remedy in the medicine cabinet, preferably with panthenol or aloe vera.

A separate line includes drugs for food poisoning and digestive disorders. Sorbents, enzymes, remedies for diarrhea, bloating drops and drugs to restore microflora will help to cope with the consequences of taking poor-quality food or water.

Also, do not neglect the remedies for motion sickness, especially if you plan to travel by boat, bus or in the mountains.

A well—assembled first-aid kit is not an excessive precaution, but part of a responsible approach to rest. It allows you to avoid stress, save resources and focus on the main thing — a good rest.
