Iran warned of US responsibility in case of Israeli strike on nuclear facilities

In the event of an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, Tehran will consider the United States complicit in such an attack and will force the United States to answer for it. This was stated on May 22 by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araqchi in a letter to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
"We are also convinced that in the event of an attack on the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Zionist regime (the Israeli authorities. The U.S. government will be complicit in this attack and will bear legal responsibility for it," the statement said, quoted by the Iranian newspaper Kayhan.
As Araqchi pointed out, Iran warns Israel against rash actions and emphasizes that in case of any threat to the country's nuclear facilities, a tough and decisive response will be given.
Earlier, on May 21, CNN reported that Israel is considering the possibility of attacking Iran's nuclear facilities against the background of how the administration of US President Donald Trump is conducting diplomatic negotiations with Tehran. It is clarified that the likely strike, most likely, will depend on how the Israeli authorities assess the course of negotiations between the United States and Tehran over the Iranian nuclear program.
