Moscow traffic police announced a three-day raid on bicycle couriers


The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a three-day "SIM, Bike Courier" raid in the capital, aimed at preventing traffic violations among users of personal mobility equipment (SIM) and bicycles. The agency announced this in its Telegram channel on May 22.
The event will be held from May 23 to May 25. As part of the raid, traffic police will remind SIM users to be careful on the road, use protective equipment, and comply with the requirements of road signs and traffic lights.
"Special attention will be paid to the safe use of electric scooters and other similar vehicles by children and adolescents, which are sources of increased danger," the State Traffic Inspectorate said.
The last raid was conducted by the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate from May 16 to 18, the event was dedicated to the search for drunk drivers. In three days, the police stopped more than 210 cases of drunk drivers driving vehicles. 46 drivers were intoxicated, 153 refused to undergo a medical examination. Also, 16 drivers were detained on the grounds of a crime, the responsibility for which is provided for in Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving while intoxicated by a person who has been subjected to administrative punishment or has a criminal record).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that in the Moscow region, a feature for recognizing the use of a phone while driving began to be massively introduced into photo-video recording systems. The fine for using a smartphone while driving in case of automatic camera fixation is 1.5 thousand rubles.
