Iran will consider the United States an accomplice in the attack and will make Washington pay for it if Israel attacks Iranian nuclear facilities. This was stated on May 22 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, in a letter sent to the UN.

"In the event of any attack on the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Zionist regime (Israel. The U.S. government will also be involved and will bear legal responsibility," the document says, the text of which was published on the Telegram channel of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The minister pointed out that Tehran is forced to take special measures to protect its nuclear facilities and will respond decisively to any threats. Araqchi added that Israel's aggression and nuclear program are the main threat to security in the region.

CNN reported on May 20 that Israel is considering the possibility of attacking Iran's nuclear facilities against the background of how the administration of US President Donald Trump is conducting diplomatic negotiations with Tehran. According to American officials, a possible strike could be an audacious step that violates the course of the American leader and provoke a broader regional conflict in the Middle East.
