Billy Williams, creator of The Night Watch and Oscar winner, has died.


British cinematographer and screenwriter Billy Williams has passed away at the age of 96. This was reported by British Cinematographer magazine on May 22.
Williams became famous for his work on a number of famous films, including "Night Watch" with American actress Elizabeth Taylor, the 1977 drama "Devil's Advocate" and the fantasy film "Saturn 3" with actor and writer Kirk Douglas. In 1982, he won the Academy Award for his participation in the filming of the film "Gandhi".
Williams completed his last film work in 1996, the film Driftwood, which gained recognition in niche cinematic circles.
In addition, he participated in the creation of the documentary project "Light keeps me Company," which director Carl-Gustav Nyqvist dedicated to his father Sven, a regular cameraman for director Ingmar Bergman.
