Specific agreements on the date and venue of the new round of negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine have not yet been reached. This was announced on May 22 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

Thus, he commented on the statement by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who announced the likelihood of a Russian-Ukrainian meeting next week in the Vatican at a technical level.

"So far, there are no specific agreements on the next meetings. This has yet to be agreed. Work is underway to implement the agreements that were reached in Istanbul," the Kremlin's official representative said at a briefing.

Earlier on May 22, The Wall Street Journal newspaper, citing sources, noted that the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on the settlement of the conflict could take place in the Vatican in mid-June. The media noted that the American delegation will also be present at the meeting, which may include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg.

On May 20, Peskov confirmed that the Vatican had stated its desire to host negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, he added that so far no specific decisions have been made about the place of continuation of possible future contacts. He stressed that the Russian side is grateful to everyone who is ready to contribute.
