In Kamchatka, the Paratunsky Experimental Salmon Hatchery is carrying out work on the cultivation of coho salmon. It is planned that the valuable fish will be released in the second decade of July this year. In Bolshoy Vilyui Lake, juveniles will be found when they reach the required weight of 3 grams.

According to IA KamchatkaMedia with reference to the press service of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Glavrybvod, this year the state task for the cultivation of coho was not approved, so it will be released as part of commercial aquaculture. The peninsula's rivers will be replenished by another 1.5 million fish, which are very important for the restoration of the region's aquatic bioresources.

The agency clarifies that at the end of April, the Paratunsky Fish Hatchery fully fulfilled the state task for the artificial reproduction of juvenile chum salmon in the amount of about 5.7 million pieces and a standard weight of more than 1 gram. In total, about 15.5 million copies of chum salmon were produced from this plant at the end of April. The issue was held, among other things, at the expense of the branch's own funds.

According to Oksana Osipenko, the chief fish breeder of the Paratunsky plant, the survival rate of factory fry is much higher than if they were born in the wild. Thus, the survival rate of salmon in the wild is about 1%, and fish raised in artificial conditions is several times higher. This makes good food and care possible.

Earlier it was reported that a new fish processing plant will be built near Nakhodka. The project is being implemented by Dobroflot, one of the country's largest producers of canned fish, using the investment quota mechanism. The capacity of the enterprise will be 120 tons of products per day.
