After the countries of the European Union (EU) approved the introduction of high duties on nitrogen fertilizers from Russia and Belarus, for them it will result in obtaining chemicals at a higher price. This was announced on May 22 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"As a result, the European Union will receive nitrogen fertilizer at a higher price and of a lower quality, because our fertilizers, including nitrogen fertilizers, are of the highest quality. <...> But the Europeans will continue to shoot themselves in the foot as always," he said at a briefing.

The press secretary of the Russian president added that the demand for nitrogen fertilizer is equally high all over the world. In this regard, markets in other directions are likely to offset these European duties.
