The creation of a "tribunal" against Russia is an attempt to take money away from citizens of the European Union (EU). This was announced on May 22 by Alexander Venediktov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council.

"I would like to draw your attention to the plans to create a so-called special tribunal for Russian crimes in Ukraine. The Europeans have been talking about creating such a punitive body for a long time, making loud statements about their readiness to bring representatives of the Russian leadership to justice. In fact, this pseudo—tribunal is another way to take money away from the European population," he told RIA Novosti.

According to Venediktov, it is assumed that the new tribunal will work in cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC), which, in his opinion, has long proved its inefficiency.

On May 10, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky announced that Europe was running out of funds to support Ukraine, and the European Commission (EC) had allocated only $1.9 billion to Kiev. According to him, the Ukrainian side spends about 3.5 billion euros a month, while 1 billion euros will need to be used for the production of weapons.
