Sergey Uvarov, a cultural columnist at Izvestia, a candidate of art history, became the winner of the Zverev Art Prize. Sight. Interpretation. Position". His book "Hear the Museum" won the Book on Contemporary Russian Art nomination.

The prize, founded by the AZ Museum, is awarded for scientific and educational achievements in the field of art. The Zverev Art Prize expert council includes reputable art historians and curators, including Alexander Borovsky, head of the Department of the Latest Trends at the State Russian Museum, Natalia Sipovskaya, director of the State Institute of Art Studies, and other well—known experts. Both published works and existing ones in the form of a manuscript or layout are put forward for the award.

The book "Hear the Museum" was presented as a layout and will be released by the Union of Composers of Russia with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture this summer. The work is devoted to the theme of sound in the exhibition space and covers a whole range of genres and phenomena: from performance and video art to sound installations and concerts in museums.

Sergey Uvarov is the author of five monographs and a number of music publications. Winner of the Award named after Kuryokhina (for the book "The Voice of Millennials"), member of the Union of Composers of Russia and the International Society of Music Theory. Izvestia regularly publishes his texts about exhibitions and concerts.

Zverev Art Prize / View. Interpretation. The Position is an annual award in the field of art criticism and journalism, which is awarded to the most interesting and innovative research and articles on the visual Russian unofficial art of the second half of the twentieth century and modern art. Art cannot exist and develop without texts that explore, comprehend and interpret certain artistic phenomena. It is the critic and researcher who can offer scientific and semantic tools for analyzing and synthesizing various trends in art, thereby indicating the vector of its development in the future.
