A criminal case was opened in Balashikha due to the fall of a concrete fence on schoolchildren.

A criminal case on negligence was opened in Balashikha after two children were injured by a fallen wall on a construction site. This was reported on May 22 in the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Moscow region.

"A concrete fence fell on two teenagers at a construction site on Koldunov Street in Balashikha. As a result, the students were injured and they were hospitalized in a medical facility," the department's Telegram channel said.

It is reported that the GSU IC has opened a criminal case under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"). Investigators and criminologists are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier that day, a source from Izvestia reported that two schoolchildren aged 11 and 12 were hospitalized in Balashikha, Moscow region, after a concrete slab fell on them. It was clarified that one of the boys was crushed by his legs, the other fell under the stove with his whole body.
