A criminal case was opened after a tiger attacked a zoo employee in Mariupol.


Investigators have opened a criminal case into a tiger attack on a zoo employee in Mariupol. This was announced on May 22 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"Based on the results of the procedural check conducted on the fact of a tiger attack on a zoo employee, it was decided to initiate a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor protection requirements that negligently caused the death of a person")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
It was established that an employee of the Wildlife Park entered the Bengal tiger enclosure without an employment contract and instructions, without being convinced of the absence of animals. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
A white tiger attack on a zoo employee in Mariupol was reported on April 22. The animal attacked the man when he entered the enclosure to feed him. As a result of the incident, the employee died.
