A Penza resident was detained for treason and working for Ukrainian intelligence

FSB officers have detained a Penza resident who is accused of high treason and transferring information to the Ukrainian intelligence service about a Russian defense industry company that carries out state defense orders and railway transportation of military equipment. This was reported on May 22 in the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB.

"The attacker, through the foreign Internet messenger Telegram, proactively established contact with a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and provided him with information regarding an enterprise part of the Russian military-industrial complex, fulfilling a state defense order, and rail transportation of military equipment," the department said, according to the report.RIA Novosti".

The FSB stressed that the transmitted information could be used to plan attacks on Russian territory. A criminal case has been opened against him under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). It is reported that the accused, born in 1987, may face life imprisonment.

On May 6, employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Primorsky Krai stopped the activities of a local resident involved in transmitting information about the critical transport infrastructure of the region and law enforcement facilities to the State Security Service of Ukraine. It is specified that the detainee was fully aware of the possibility of using this data by the addressee against the security of the Russian Federation.
