South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, pointed out to him the importance of achieving a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. Ramaphosa said this at a meeting with US President Donald Trump.

"[Former South African President] Nelson Mandela taught us how to create, create peace. So we passed it on to him (Zelensky. — Ed.) some of these lessons, some of this knowledge," said the South African leader.

Ramaphosa added that he reminded Zelensky of Mandela's words that the desire to achieve peace in the country obliges the leader to sit down at the negotiating table without preconditions.

On April 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Zelensky and his entourage were undermining peace efforts. She stressed that the head of the Kiev regime not only makes extremist statements, but also boasts of them as a "classic terrorist."
