A network of underground casinos has been eliminated in Yakutia


In Yakutia, law enforcement officers eliminated a network of underground casinos, 18 people were detained. This was announced on May 22 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
It is specified that two local residents who had previous convictions organized an illegal casino in correctional colonies, as well as in several districts and Yakutsk. The attackers' business had a clear hierarchy in which the roles of each participant were distributed.
In addition, members of the community used strict measures, and in case of non-payment of debts resorted to violence. This is how the defendants extorted money from the players.
"Two alleged leaders and 16 members of the criminal community have been detained. The investigative authorities have opened a criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Articles 163, 171.2 and 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the Telegram channel said.
According to Volk, investigators continue to establish those involved and the facts of their illegal activities.
Earlier, on February 10, the police in Blagoveshchensk eliminated the work of an illegal casino, which operated from September 2024 to January 2025. In addition, during the search, law enforcement officers found funds worth about 1.5 million rubles.
