North Korea has launched several cruise missiles towards the Sea of Japan. This was reported by the Yonhap news Agency on Thursday, May 22, with reference to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the Republic of Korea.
It is specified that the series of launches was recorded around 9:00 a.m. local time (3:00 a.m. Moscow time). According to available information, cruise missiles aimed towards the Sea of Japan fell into the water.
In response to this incident, the South Korean military stated that they had identified signs of preparation for the launch in advance and were ready for possible actions, the publication says.
Yonhap reported on May 8 that North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan. According to preliminary data, the missile launched from the city of Wonsan was classified as a short-range missile.
