The U.S. Department of Energy plans to allocate $30 billion to modernize the country's nuclear arsenal. This was announced on May 22 by the head of the department, Chris Wright, during a hearing in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

"By allocating $30 billion to the National Nuclear Safety Administration, we will ensure the critical modernization of the American nuclear arsenal and the maintenance of engines for submarines and aircraft carriers," Wright said.

He also highlighted the strategic importance of modernizing the nuclear arsenal, specifying that this issue is a top priority for the White House administration in the field of nuclear safety.

The Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force (Air Force), David Alvin, announced on May 7 that obtaining permanent funding for the modernization of the Air Force's nuclear capabilities is a top priority for the United States. He added that work is currently underway to modernize the F-15 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as the B-52 strategic bombers.
