In the Mykolaiv district in southern Ukraine, a woman detonated a grenade due to neighbors' refusal to take her to a store, resulting in the death of a child. This was announced on May 21 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region.

According to the department, a 41-year-old woman, being drunk, came to her neighbors and asked them to take her to the store. After being refused, she went home, and later returned to them with a grenade. As a result of the explosion of ammunition in the courtyard of the house, the three-year-old son of the neighbors was killed. The woman received multiple injuries and later also died.

Police investigative teams, investigators, criminologists and explosives experts were sent to the scene. As a result of searches, more than 100 cartridges of various calibers and automatic weapons were found in the deceased's house.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched to establish the ammunition supply routes. In addition, criminal cases of premeditated murder and illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives were initiated into the incident.

The Ukrainian edition of "Country.ua" reported on April 15 that in Kharkiv, a teenager wounded his mother and brother with a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher (RPG), which he secretly brought home, hiding on the balcony. It was noted that the court sentenced him to three years of probation.
