Sports Minister Degtyarev congratulated Lokomotiv on winning the Gagarin Cup


Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, congratulated the Yaroslavl hockey club Lokomotiv on winning the Gagarin Cup.
"Congratulations to HC Lokomotiv on their Victory! The Gagarin Cup in the 2024/2025 season is going to Yaroslavl," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
In the fifth match of the final playoff series, Lokomotiv beat Traktor Chelyabinsk 2-1, becoming the Gagarin Cup winner for the first time in its history. At the same time, Alexander Radulov, a 38-year-old Lokomotiv forward, was recognized as the most valuable player of the KHL playoffs.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called Igor Nikitin, coach of the Yaroslavl hockey club Lokomotiv, and congratulated him and the entire team on winning the Gagarin Cup.
Hockey player Maxim Shalunov told Izvestia that he was happy to be a part of Lokomotiv and bring him the Cup. Igor Nikitin, the head coach of Lokomotiv, thanked his colleagues and stressed that he was happy to work "not just with professionals, but with people with a capital letter."
