Reconnaissance units of aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are being created in motorized rifle brigades, sources in the military department told Izvestia. They are equipped with Supercam S350 drones, which are used for aerial photography and video monitoring.

The main tasks of the new units are the reconnaissance of enemy fortifications and the guidance of heavy artillery. In addition, they can give target indications to other fire weapons such as missile systems, tanks, and attack drones. All information from the devices is received in real time.

"The creation of such units is natural and meets the requirements of modern warfare. The fact that intelligence units are equipped with high-quality drones indicates a focus on the quality of combat missions performed. In those brigades where these drones already exist, they highly appreciate their reliability and communication range. The Supercam S350 is positioned as a guaranteed device that performs its tasks," Sergey Kurapov, a researcher at MGUTU, told Izvestia.

"Supercams" are actively used for tactical reconnaissance, military expert Yuri Lyamin told Izvestia.

"They have proven to be successful reconnaissance drones, have proven their effectiveness, and now it is planned to scale up the practice of their use. These drones provide units with information about enemy actions. We need quite a lot of such devices," he explained.

The expert noted that such drones conduct reconnaissance not on the front line, where copters operate, but at a distance behind enemy lines.

"This is very important because there is artillery in the rear, and supply lines are running. Tactical drones should provide as much density as possible in this area. At the moment, the front line is almost transparent due to the large number of copters. But at a distance of 15-20 km, a lot of dark spots appear in the rear, which makes it possible to hide artillery and so on. Ultimately, if there are enough of them, they provide an advantage to our troops," concluded Yuri Lyamin.
